Nitten Folk Club was set up in 1986 by a steering committee of seven founding members. Since then, our club has grown to become one of the most popular folk clubs in Scotland. 

We aim to encourage, promote and keep alive traditional and contemporary folk songs, poems and stories. We try to foster and encourage interest in all forms of the performing folk arts in Newtongrange and the surrounding communities.

Every Thursday evening (8.30pm till 11pm), members and visitors get together at The Dean Tavern (EH22 4NA) to sing old songs and new, recite poetry and just enjoy the camaraderie and joy that comes with being a part of the community. 

Although nominally a ‘Folk Club’ we are open to all genres of music, including the songs of Bob Dylan, The Beatles and more.
